The extension is completed. Thus extended storage capacities, more production area and an adequate showroom are available. In the same year, the Cooling division is also launched. In this segment, solutions for cooling and air conditioning are realized by means of high-pressure fogging. The areas of application are very wide: stables, production halls, leisure facilities, etc.
The development of the company makes it necessary to rent additional space. The capacity limit with the given resources is exhausted. The necessary expansion of the company is concretized and the construction, which will more than double the production, storage, exhibition and office space, will be started in autumn.
LIMEX, a company with a long tradition in Linz, joins the LEMA family. The location will be moved to the core site in Eferding. Customer service and support will remain unchanged, but with the advantage of extending the range to include the entire LEMA product range.
A web shop for accessories and components for high-pressure cleaning is being set up with a specially founded subsidiary for the online customer shift.
As of 1 January, LEMA takes over the activities of EGR Ruderstaller in Salzburg/Kuchl. The experienced cleaning technician Gerhard Ruderstaller strengthens the LEMA sales team at the representation in the province of Salzburg.
The know-how of the high pressure cleaners is used for the fire brigades. The high-pressure extinguisher breaks new ground in efficient, fast and water-saving fire fighting.
As of 1 January, Johannes Mayrhofer (grandson of the founder) is appointed managing director. The third generation thus comes on board the family business. At the beginning of 2004, extensive conversion work in office, workshop and storage areas will also be completed.
On 1 July, the branch in the Czech Republic/Tabor is opened, where the LEMA cleaning products are introduced to the market with a competent team on 800m².
The imminent EU expansion to the east motivates the management to make even better use of the opportunities in the east with branches. For example, preparations are being made for the establishment of a branch in the Czech Republic. Sales activities are also being started in some other Eastern European countries. A LEMA sales office is established in Baia Mare, contracts are signed with general agents in Bulgaria and Slovakia.
Lema adds mobile ultra-high pressure systems to its product range. This means that systems up to 2,000bar are available.
Mobile warm air heaters and workshop heaters are added to the agricultural sales programme, making even better use of the extensive LEMA sales network.
After the retirement of Leopold Mayrhofer and DI Heinrich Mayrhofer from the management, Dkfm. Friedrich Mayrhofer (another son of the company founder) took over the business. The product range is expanded; in addition to the proven LEMA high-pressure cleaners, other cleaning equipment such as industrial vacuums, vacuum sweepers or interior cleaning equipment is sold – the large program for cleaning and cleanliness is created.

DI Heinrich Mayrhofer (son of the company founder) joins the company and is appointed as second managing director alongside Leopold Mayrhofer.
LEMA Mayrhofer GmbH is founded and Leopold Mayrhofer is appointed as managing partner. In the years that followed, LEMA’s high-pressure cleaning program grew steadily. There are a lot of new developments, so the high pressure cleaner becomes an indispensable helper in agriculture, trade and industry. Numerous trade fairs (in Vienna, Wels, Tulln, Wieselburg, etc.) are attended and a nationwide distribution network is established.
After purchasing high-pressure cleaners from Danish companies, the company founder decided to start his own production in 1968.
After a fundamental change in the refrigerator market with the introduction of new compact refrigerators, Leopold Mayrhofer is looking for an innovative product to introduce in Austria – the LEMA high pressure cleaner is born.
Leopold Mayrhofer founds the company, which initially deals with the general agricultural machinery trade and subsequently specialises in dairy and deep-freeze equipment.
